The Story of Cultivator
The agency we wanted to work for didn’t exist. So we built it. In 2000 we opened our shop in a small office in Boulder with a few Macs and a vision for how we thought an agency should be run.

We wanted to create a shop with the sort of work ethic found in the American farmer. A roll-up-your-sleeves, nose-to-the-grindstone sort of culture, where you worked hard, helped your neighbor, and sat back at the end of the day satisfied with what you built.
We named the shop Cultivator, because it provided a nod to that agricultural heritage and seemed a good metaphor for how we nurture brands to grow and flourish. We built some furniture. Ran a messy network of cat5 cable. Hired a few like-minded souls and got to work making great things for clients.
Since then, we’ve been heads down focused on doing great work, helping big brands remain authentic and small brands build credibility. It’s amazing how much we’ve accomplished with a seasoned team, a flat organization, and an incredible roster of clients who appreciate the power of craftsmanship.

The Cultivator Way
This is what it looks like when a small, talented team of designers, writers, strategists, producers, and managers are focused on making great things.
We don’t just talk about ideas and put them into big presentation decks; we craft them and deploy them into the world, where they can do good for our clients.
We immerse ourselves in our client’s business. We get our hands dirty. We sweat the small stuff. And we obsess over every detail, whether anyone else will notice or not. We also collaborate with talented artists, stylists, photographers, and craftspeople to build things. In the end, we bring brands to life. And we do it one project at a time, with unwavering hospitality for our amazing roster of clients — who ultimately become part of the family.
That’s the Cultivator way. It’s how we’ve been doing things for 25 years in Denver, Colorado. And we’re just getting started.

Who We Work With
We’ve been honored to work with great companies and the outstanding teams leading them.
For the last few decades we’ve been hard at work. Instead of chasing RFPs, we spend our time delivering high-quality design, digital solutions, and advertising campaigns for a loyal roster of clients in industries we really love. Our best growth opportunities have come from referrals through current and past clients who valued what we added enough to tell others about us.

Our People
Our Culture

Work hard. Do some good. Have some fun along the way. Enjoy your evenings and weekends.
While we all love advertising and design, we believe there is life outside of work, especially when you live in a beautiful place like Colorado.
The tenure of our staff is a testament to our culture. Folks often make a career out of working for Cultivator. And of all the stuff we’ve created over the years, a talented, passionate staff is the thing we’re most proud of.
While we don’t have openings very often, if you’re interested in joining our team, please send us your resume or portfolio and we will reach out if something opens up.
